I am a writer. I write publicly at this blog, for What If the Conference and guest blog in a variety of places. I also write books. To date I have published three non-fiction books about image making: Photo Fusion, Beyond Auto and Love and Light. I have a fictional story I’m working on, which may never see the light of day and I journal everyday. Writing is how I process my world and all that is in it.
I am a photographer. For 14 years my husband and I photographed wedding professionally. Now we are on sabbatical and I make images of life everyday. While not running a studio right now, I am still very involved in photography via my position as Director of CMpro at Clickin Moms. I share my images on Instagram and this blog.
storyteller + teacher
I am a teacher. A doer. A believer that anything is possible if you are willing to do the work. I believe all people are creative and everyone deserves a life that best suits them. All these ideas came to life in 2012 with What If the Conference. We are currently planning our 6th conference for April, 2015. This labour of love has become one of my proudest accomplishments.
doer + dreamer
I believe everyday begins with a good cup of coffee and a few moments of quiet introspection. I believe that our bodies work best when powered by real food. I believe we need to move each day. I believe that we manifest the lives we want by becoming that which we think about most. I believe in getting things done. And I believe that every single day offers us a chance to smile, even if we have to force it. Seriously, try smiling right now – you feel better, don’t you?
I’m a What Iffer, are you?
What If the Conference is a forced full stop, allowing you to step outside the busy-ness of your life to evaluate where you are, where you want to go, and how to get there.
LOVE & LIGHT
A Guide to Photographing Your First Wedding
Love & Light is over 120 pages long and is full of really solid wisdom, from the actual making of photographs, to shot lists, posing guides, and logistics help, it’s all there, and the book (a downloadable PDF) includes Evernote files of all the lists so you can load them onto your iPhone, iPad or Android for fast reference when you prep and shoot the day, checking things off as you go. If you don’t have Evernote, it’s a free app and the information you need to get it, and get started with it, is in the book.
Anyone can photograph a wedding, but doing it well, and doing it like a pro, isn’t easy. Love & Light gives you full access to the heart and mind of an experienced photographer and teacher, who levels the learning curve on what, who, how, where, and when to photograph during one of the most romantic, important – and un-repeatable days of your client’s lives.
